Don’t miss Decorex Cape Town this weekend for an inspired soft life

26 June 2026

Decorex, Africa's premier décor and design exhibition, returned this week to the Cape Town International Convention Centre for four days of trade, dialogue, networking and exchanging ideas.

Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, cut the ribbon at the opening event on Thursday, 25 June where over 300 exhibitors are featuring. The theme of the 2026 exhibition is ‘Soft Life’, described as a movement wherein “spaces, objects and experiences prioritise comfort, emotion, wellbeing and intentional living”.

‘It gives me great pleasure to welcome businesses, buyers, and other visitors to this year’s Decorex Cape Town. The City proudly sponsors this event because it is such an important platform for designers and emerging talents to connect with like-minded creators and existing and potential clients,’ said Alderman Vos.

The 2025 show saw more than 24 500 unique visitors over the four event days and 5 568 trade visitors from countries such as Austria, Germany, Mauritius, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States and Zambia and this year promises to be even bigger. Decorex 2026 is turning the spotlight on the works of 20 Cape Town-based SMMEs.

‘Decorex is the premium exhibition to showcase Cape Town’s up-and-coming small businesses in the design space. These creators have been carefully curated because they represent the vibrancy, innovation, quality and distinctiveness that reveals the Mother City’s character and how it is stitched into the fabric of Africa. I had the great privilege of meeting them during a special walk on the floor and I’ll just say that my home is now the proud new owner of some very cool items. I also got the chance to catch the first of the Future Talks series where leading roleplayers in the industry discuss the soft life and design. I encourage everyone interested to head to the CTICC to catch the rest of the event,’ said Alderman Vos.

Decorex Cape Town opened on Thursday, 25 June and will run until Sunday, 28 June. Go to the Decorex website to find out more about the show or buy tickets
